Chaos - Walker of the Wheel

Mist Lv : 3
LP Cost : 90
Zodiac : Taurus
Element : Multi
Location : Necrohol Of Nabudis

Before you can fight Chaos, you have to go through some little quests and get the apppointed keys. First of all, go Nabreus Deadlands to trigger the scene with Ma'Kleou. Afterwards, you need to obtain three fragments, below is the way for them:

- Clear Wraith (rank E), White Mousse and Orthros (rank A) Mob Hunt missions.
- Return to your client for rewards with the first fragment from Orthros mission, Blackened Fragment.

With Sluice Gate Key which get from the reward of White Mousse hunting mission, back to Garamsythe Waterway, so that you can control the panel. In the central control section, you can see some spheres there which are the panel of 3rd, 4th, 10th and 11th area waterway. To not be confused, light off all panel for first, then follow the steps below:
- On No.11 Area Panel. (thats mean light up the panel)
- On No.4 Area Panel.
- Off No.11 Area Panel.
- On No.3 Area Panel.
- Off No.4 Area Panel.
- Now go around South in the same area and find the shiny object on the ground which is another fragment that you need, Dull Fragment. NOT in the South section, it's still the semi-circle!

If it's any wrong step you did, just light off all panel and start again.

- In Rabanastre Downtown/Lowtown, head to Old Dalan's Place at South, talk to Roh'Kenmou near Dalan.
- Still in Downtown/Lowtown, around South-East area, talk to Filo.
- Go Rabanastre central section where known as Southern Plaza, talk to the Curious Women who's looking at the fountain.
- Now go Bazaar section and speak with all merchants there and ask about the Necklace things until you get the answer.
- Head to Magic shop and talk to the Sotted Imperial, the only soldier sitting in the left corner, choose first option twice.
- Back down to Downtown/Lowtown and talk to Filo, choose lets go with Filo to return to Magic Shop for some events, you will get one more fragment after the scene, Grimmy Fragment.

Before leaving for the next quest, back to Old Dalan's Palce in Downtown/Lowtown, pass all three fragments that you get to Roh'Kenmou, and he would disappear.

- Since you had already met with Ma'Kleou, now go to The Imperial City Of Archades.
- Within the Magic Shop, talk to Roh'Kenmu.
- Move on to Old Archades West section, talk to Otto at the corner for the Moonsilver Medallion.
- Return to Imperial City Of Archades, pass the Moonsilver Medallion to Roh'Kenmu in Magic Shop.

After the quests above, you're getting closer to the esper. Now,
- Go to Nabreus Deadlands and talk to Ma'Kleou.
- Head to North-West section. Like you hunt Roblon (rank S), you have to go through the hidden path. Just go South from the Gate Crystal, following section search the North-West area for the path.
- Go until you see something like monument to get Medallion Of Bravery, Love and lately obtain the Lusterless Medallion.

Now move to Necrohol Of Nabudis, central West area, use Medallion Of Bravery to open the Door Of Horrors, defeat Humbaba Boss/Mistant optional boss. Head to North-East area, use the Medallion Of Love to open the Door Of Loathing and defeat Fury optional boss. Now the Lusterless Medallion become Mighty. Go to the central section, use the Medallion Of Might to open the Door of Despair and battle with this esper.

Use Fury and Humbaba Boss/Mistant as your tests before the fight, if you couldn't handle these battles well, go train some more before fighting Chaos. Attack command was sealed, the worst thing. Prepare your Gambit system focus onto magic and skill uses, Telekinesis (Distance Attack for JP version) skill/ technick is recommended to replace your normal attack, you can buy it from the secret shop there (Nabudis) after Giruvegan event. As for magic, of cause the stronger is better, strongest Black Magic is Scathe (Collapse for JP version) which sell in the secret shop as well, buy it after Pharos at Ridorana if you need it.

Cast support spell on your party, and recast them for the entire battle when they're gone, do remember Faith is to raise up the magic power. And needless to say, Dispel Chaos whenever he has support spells. Take down the 4 elemental Chaos jets before focus on Chaos. Chaos attacks are pretty stronge, recommend equip shield for this battle since you don't use any weapon attacks, unless you're using Telekinesis, so you need stronger weapons to boost up the damage
to Chaos, if you're not using the Telekinesis technick style, just use the shields. Chaos can you Silence, and magics are the main attack for now, you must prepare Gambit to cure Silence all the time. Because of Chaos can absorb the elemental spells, remember just use the non-element spells to damage him. If you have lot of gil, use Gil Toss isn't a bad idea. Beside, you can also
send him Slow and Sap.

Can reach this cavern through Nam-Yensa Sandsea, Ozmone Plains or Dalmasca Westersand. Find the inner area where couldn't display proper in the mini map, around there will encounter this esper. If you can kill the monsters in the cavern easily, defeating the esper won't be a problem.

Flying target, plan to use magic, skill and weapons for flying target, since the esper immune to some ammunitions, so recommend learn Telekinesis before the fight. Some Shambling Corpses join the battle too. First you can flee from the battle, then re-enter this section to kill off the corpses before the esper found you. Equip the armor or shield that're immune to lightning if you have any, eg: Rubber Suit which can be found in Pharos at Ridorana, or the strongest shield Zodiac Escutcheon if you have got it.

Like Hell Wyrm optional boss, you can run from the fight anytime you like, as long as not leaving Yiazmat with Regen status, he won't restore his life. So, fight until you're tired, then leave and save your game at the nearest Save Crystal, return there later as your wish.

Well, my recommended level is 80, or it can be even lower, but of cause if you have higher level characters. There's a little tricks to reduce his long HP bar much easier than fighting him at the stage. At around level 80 or lower, you have to do this trick, you cannot beat him by using normal battle style.

Some important things you need are:
- Darkga, this is your main attack.
- Mirror Mail, at least 3 for supporting your main attack.
- Phoenix Down, 99 if it. You must sacrifice an ally for some reasons.
- Gold Needle & Chronos Tear at least 10 for each. I believe you have more.
- Hermes Sandals, if you don't like to unequip Mirror Mail and cast Haste.
- Lv 3 Mists, to max out your Max MP. I believe you have done this.
- Windbreaker, just in case for Yiazmat's Cyclone.

Optional:
- Ashe and Penelo as main party, they have strongest magic power.
- Bubble Belt, for safety before you can really trapped Yiazmat.
- Opal Ring, in case of need.
- Black Mask, in case of need.
- Fomalhaut + Dark Shot, in case of need.
- Sage's Ring to save your MP.

NOTE:
Before anything, I would like to let you know, this trick can only take down 95% Yiazmat's HP, you must fight the remaining 5% in the hard way! Althought this trick could not beat Yiazmat, but I think it would be helpful to get rid of 95% Yiazmat.

#- Trapping Yiazmat
Here comes the fight, I found a little trick to trap Yiazmat and attack him without worrying much, which means you don't actually need to fight him face to face. Switch off the Gambit, enter the Colosseum and manually cast Dispel on Yiazmat at first, let him target on your current leader. Circling Yiazmat at the side to lure him get close to the side, and now you will get one or
two hits, but with Bubble Belt or Bubble status, you can survive it without problem. If you're unluckly get Stop or Petrify, or even stomp on the trap with other bad statuses, faster use item to cure it. Once Yiazmat has closed to the stairs (be sure it's very close to the stairs), change your second character as your leader, leave the former leader KO'd by Yiazmat, but now make sure you new leader run down the stairs and hide behind the wall.

Use Phoenix Down or Arise to revive your former leader once yo reached behind the wall. Now Yiazmat will start casting Protect at the same place, and you can actually damage him behind the wall, by using Reflect + Darkga is the strongest attack. Equip all character with Mirror Mail and use the Darkga on your own.

You might not understand what I mean, so check the link below, click "Next" at the bottom to see step by step of the trick.

Once you've done trapping Yiazmat, simply set the Gambit like this:
---------------------------------------
| Character 1                                            | As mentioned before, equip all your
| 1. Ally: Any => Phoenix Down            | character with Mirror Mail, so you
| 2. Ally: Any => Darkga                        | don't need to cast Reflectga on the
|                                                                  | team. Keep on using Darkga to bounce
| Character 2                                            | off triple damage to Yiazmat.
| 1. Ally: Any => Phoenix Down            |
| 2. Ally: Any => Darkga                        | Same time, Yiazmat will cast Protect,
|                                                                  | Shell, Regen, Haste, Bravery... spell
| Character 3                                            | on his own, you should Dispel him
| 1. Ally: Any => Phoenix Down            | again at the suitable timing.
| 2. Ally: Any => Darkga                         | I recommend begin your Dispel once
--------------------------------------- Yiazmat has done his Haste.

By doing so, you would trigger Yiazmat to use Deathstrike since Dispel cannot cast through the wall. Just send the character with weakest Magic to do this job. Revive him/her after the Deathstrike, the Dispel should be sent before Yiazmat did the Deathstrike. So, Yiazmat will recast the support spell accrodingly again, repeat and send him more Darkga until him cast Haste, Dispel as usual.

Sometimes, Yiazmat will use Cyclone instead of Deathstrike, if this happen, try set your team to be only one existing character to take on the Cyclone, but probably you can't do this well since your Gambit is on. So equip all character with Windbreaker armor, also equip Shell Shield if you have it, just only to block the Cyclone. Change back the better equipments afterwards. Remeber Cyclone bring you Sap status, be sure you heal it.

#- Additional notes:
- Sometimes you can actually make Yiazmat cancels Cyclone, but I haven't discovered how exaclty was it. So far I've done few times, which is keep running further from Yiazmat (who was targetted by Yiazmat with Cyclone), and eventaully Yiazmat begins casting Protect again.
- Equip Sage's Ring to regain some MP, because you can gain MP while using Darkga, and Sage's Ring reduce the MP cost.
- If you need to cast support spell, equip Opal Ring, but remember to unequip it after you've done.
- In case after Cyclone you need to heal badly, unequip the Mirror Mail on the character at low HP and equip Black Mask, means heal by using Darkga, meanwhile you can damage Yiazmat.
- Equip Hermes Sandals to speed up your progress.
- Prevent Reflectga from Yiazmat by equiping Mirror Mails.

*** READ THIS ***

Hopefully you haven't go and fight Yiazmat without reading this. Again, with the strategy above, you can only cut off 95% of his HP, what would happen after that? Like King Bomb restores its HP after getting certain amount of damage, but Yiazmat is like a auto-ability, he will restore his HP very faster, probably 2 seconds restore one life bar, you can't Dispel this, however, this auto-ability can only be activated when Yiazmat cannot detect any target in his range. So,
show off yourself to stop Yiazmat from restoring HP. And I noticed this will happen when Yiazmat HP is down to 2 bar left, that's mean when 1 red dot left under his HP bar.
For safety, GO AND SAVE YOUR GAME NOW~!

Before return to the fight, remember Yiazmat will give you a Cyclone after he done his supporting setup. So, send a solo character to take against this Cyclone. It's better you have Reverse status in the right timing, so you don't need to worry for it. I recommend start casting
Reverse when you pass the stairs.

#- Final showdown

1. Lure Yiazmat to use Deathstrike
With the over-wall attack trick above, Yiazmat can only use Deathstrike if you don't enter the stage. To not make Yiazmat stop attacking, use two characters to keep staying at the stairs, as Yiazmat can detect the targets, he will keep using Deathstrike, so his HP wouldn't restore as
long as he sees your ally. Keep one ally using Darkga as usual, be sure you have Gambit set to use Phoenix Down against your ally to revive from Deathstrike. But this technique is slow, and Yiazmat might use Cyclone instead of Deathstrike, so you do have to prepare against Cyclone too.

2. Decoy + Reverse
As you need to close combat with Yiazmat, he will cast Reflectga on your team, if you want to use Dispel on your team, you will lost all your current supporting statuses, and you need to recast them, which is wasting your time. To make the things easier, equip Mirror Mail
to prevent the Reflectga from Yiazmat. Decoy a character and Reverse him/her. Already mentioned in Fafnir strategy under Rank H/VII section, check it out for the basic setup. By using this technique, you have to prepare Esuna or Chronos Tear and Gold Needle to cure the possible bad statuses from Stone and White Breath. Since Yiazmat only attack your
Decoyed character, so equip Windbreaker to other characters for the coming soon Cyclone.

3. Reverse everyone
You don't need to Decoy, only cast Reverse to all ally, but you need to spend lot of MP. This is also a close combat, so equip Mirror Mail to prevent Yiazmat's Reflectga. Now you should have Gambit setup for "Self => Reverse" or "Ally: Any => Reverse". Equip Sage's Ring to
reduce MP cost of Bubble/Bubble Belt to double your HP for just in case get hit by Yiazmat before you put up the Reverse. So basically you don't need to worry about Cyclone, but you still need to prepare curing Petrify, Stop and Sap.

The strongest boss in the game is going down, Good Luck~!

Early Leveling Via Dustia Method

Earn some more gil and buy a bunch of Phoenix Downs from either Nalbina or  Migelo's in Rabanastre (if you've done the Sunstone quest) to prepare for some serious leveling. Once you have a good stash, head over to the Westersand and  beat yourself up until your HP drops below 10%. Once you're there, go to the Corridor of Sand.

Dustia, a rare monster, will show up. It is an undead monster, so a Phoenix  Down will kill it in one shot. It is also a teleporting monster, which means  that if you kill it but leave the area before the Exp/LP totals show up, it  will respawn once you reenter the area. You get about 1100 Exp per Dustia. This translates to about 20 levels in around an hour, less if you get good at it. What's also good about this method is that you effectively build up a chain and  can stand to make some serious gil. Practice picking up the loot and exiting  without breaking your chain and you'll be able to pick up a lot of Book of Orgains, which you'll be able to sell for a lot of cash. By the way, I don't take credit for this method.

Remember, whenever you want to leave and save before heading back for more,  you have to be below 10% of your max HP before Dustia will spawn.

Gladius (For Early Leveling)

Stats: +45 dagger, Windstrike
Method: Steal from Lindbur Wolf - Dalmasca Westersand, Shimmering Horizons

Chain more than 20 Wolves in the Westersand and head to Shimmering Horizons.  Lindbur Wolf will be here with a few lackeys. Equip the Leather Shield.  Repeatedly cast Blind on the Lindbur Wolf until it connects. It should almost never be able to hit you now. Get rid of the small fry and steal from Lindbur Wolf until you obtain the Gladius.
